There are 2 bridges to gain access to AMI , the northern artery is Manatee Avenue & the southern bridge is Cortez Road where they both will take you east into Bradenton away from the gorgeous sugar sand beaches to the west. If you wish to continue on their main artery of AMI due south past Bridge street – SR 789 to drive slowly to enjoy the miles of public beaches, & past Coquina Beach to catch a sunset at Greer Island (aka Beer Can Island) over the last bridge which is Longboat Pass to welcome you onto LBK.
The island is known for short term rentals, lots of golf cart rentals, fun tours & busy activity every weekend especially during spring break plan to do a lot of local walking to close by bistros or be prepared to wait in traffic either exiting the bridges or by Manatee avenue to the North.
